As each camp has slightly different requirements sometimes the kit list is slightly different. The following is a general list of item's that should and should not be brought to camp. The number of each item brought will depend on the duration of the event. Additional advice about kit can be sought from a member of the leader team. |
Kit bag or rucksack (a suitcase is unsuitable for use in a tent)
Day sack
Sleeping bag (3 seasons minimum)
Sleeping bag liner (optional)
Ground mat (Foam pad, thermarest etc.)
Hiking boots or Strong shoes (Waterproof)
Trainers
Bowl, Plate and Mug (not glass or china)
Knife, Fork and Spoon
Dish towel
Personal First Aid Kit
Wash kit and towel
Torch (spare batteries if not wind up)
Plastic bags for soiled clothing and shoes
Water bottle (1 litre minimum)
Pencil and paper
Midge net (optional)
Camera (optional)
Swiss Army Knife (see note 1) |
Full Beaver/Cub/Scout Uniform (to be worn during travelling)
Coat hanger for uniform
Warm jacket
Warm jumper
Waterproof jacket
Waterproof trousers (optional)
Trousers (not jeans)
Shorts
Spare socks (walking socks may be required as well)
Spare underwear
T shirts
Pyjamas / nightwear
Thermal top (optional)
Thermal trousers (optional)
Camoflauge top and trousers for night games (optional)

Notes
1. Swiss Army Knife. Scouts are permitted to bring Swiss Army Knives to camps. They can be very useful in several situations that arrise during an event. However, the leader team have the right to confiscate them if they are not being used correctly. They will be returned when the Scouts proves that the knife can be used correctly or it will be give to their parents after the event. Cubs and Beavers are mot permitted to bring Swiss Army Knives to Camp, Pack Holidays or Sleepovers. |
